Born Free USA is excited to introduce a primate "adoption" program for children! For $39.95, you can adopt Khy — a snow monkey at our Primate Sanctuary in Texas — for that special young person in your life.
Meet our Trapping Victims Fund's newest beneficiary: Tréa, a young black Labrador from Princeton, MN, who late last year was partially mutilated by a snare trap. Born Free USA paid for hundreds of dollars' worth of initial veterinary expenses for Tréa.
The exciting new version of "Born Free," the Academy Award-winning song from the classic 1966 movie of the same name, now is available for downloading in North America on iTunes. Proceeds will benefit our work to protect lions and other wildlife.
In just a few more days, it's all for the birds! Please join in our annual celebration of all things avian on Jan. 5, 2013 — National Bird Day, which we co-founded more than a decade ago with the Avian Welfare Coalition.
As we look ahead to 2013, much vital work remains to be done. Will you please consider giving $13 (tax-deductible) today to make next year a "Lucky 13" for animals? Thank you for your support, and have a very happy new year.
Warm wishes to you and yours this holiday season. Please join us as we keep in mind our furred, feathered and finned friends.
Across the United States, more and more states are opening up wolf hunts for the first time in decades. Don't let Michigan be next! SB 1350, which recently passed the state Legislature, would allow the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to establish an open season on wolves. These animals are making a comeback in Michigan, with population levels rising above 700 in the peninsula area. An open season on wolves will threaten their fragile population.
Yes, today is my birthday. And each year I tell my family and friends the same thing: I don't need anything, but I want them to support Born Free USA and our work to save wild animals everywhere. Take a minute to check out the amazing year we've had and you'll see why this birthday wish is a worthwhile one!
