Purpose: This bill would prohibit the slaughter of horses for human consumption and the trade and transport of horseflesh and live horses intended for human consumption.

Action: SUPPORT. Horses have been faithful companions that have shaped American history and must be protected from slaughter. Horses sent to slaughter are treated with extreme cruelty and, since they are not food animals, can be full of chemicals that are dangerous for humans to consume.
