H 565 Bans the Use of Cruel Leghold and Conibear Traps [2007]

in New Hampshire

Update: Sadly, this legislation did not receive the required support and is no longer viable this session.

Bill Description: If passed, this bill would prohibit the use of Conibear traps and steel-jawed leghold traps for commercial and recreational purposes. However, Fish & Game department employees would be allowed to use these traps for public safety purposes, and the traps could be used with a permit to address an animal problem that cannot be abated using other traps.
