Update: This bill failed to pass.
Bill Description: If passed, this bill would require the state Wildlife Resources Commission to pass rules overseeing the use of traps. Currently, Tennessee law provides essentially no oversight of this industry.
[teaserbreak]
Body-gripping traps are non-selective and oversight of this industry is necessary for public safety reasons as well as for the protection of the state’s wildlife. Due to their inherent non-selectivity, these traps catch and kill non-target animals, including family cats and dogs and endangered species.
