Update: Unfortunately, the language was stripped from this bill by a Senate committee and the bill no longer protects alligators and crocodiles.
Bill Description: If passed, this bill would ban the feeding of wild alligators and crocodiles.

Wild animals can be perceived as “nuisances” when they are deliberately attracted by and then become habituated to humans and begin to associate food with proximity to urban and suburban areas. Intentionally feedng wildlife is often the source of human/wildlife problems, such as wild animals that kill neighborhood cats or small dogs. The concern is especially great when the wild animals being fed are potentially dangerous animals, such as alligators. Prevention is the key, and prohibiting the feeding of these wild animals is a significant tool for prevention.
