Roberts, CEO of Born Free USA and Born Free Foundation, discuss the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary on the most recent episode of “The Pet Show with Dr. Katy.” Roberts explains, “We’ve got baboons that were in apartment complexes in Wisconsin,… pet macaques from Pennsylvania, and then, of course, biomedical research animals. And, these were animals that were literally kept in a cage their entire lives. They never have felt the sunshine on their face, they’ve never tasted fresh fruit, and we give them places to climb trees, and swim in ponds, and actually be with others of their own kind—which, for some of them, is the first time in their lives that they’ll ever have that experience.”
