Born Free Speaks Out for the Protection of Black Bears

in Animal News

On Radioactivity’s latest episode, its debate segment (“The Fairness Doctrine”) focuses on the hunting of the Florida black bear, which was recently approved for the first time in more than 20 years by the Florida Fish and Wildlife commission. Arguing against hunting is Adam M. Roberts, CEO of Born Free USA and Born Free Foundation. Explains Roberts, “In order to answer the question of whether hunting is good or bad…I think the first question we have to really grapple with is the ‘why.’ Why do we have hunting and why has it existed for so long, and whether it should…continue.” (The debate segment begins at 3:26 in the broadcast, with Roberts’ portion starting at 10:23.)
