When singer Beyoncé posted a snapshot of herself petting a tiger cub during a holiday in Thailand, she thought it would thrill her fans—but, instead, it caused an outcry. Mistreatment, poor conditions, and foul diets are rife in Thailand’s well-known Tiger Temple attraction. According to Born Free Foundation’s Chris Draper, “The Tiger Temple is no animal sanctuary… It is high time these tigers were offered a more suitable environment with appropriate care, away from the demands of visitors and animal handlers.”
