Mollie King, of the singing group The Saturdays, has joined forces with Born Free Foundation with an urgent appeal to help captive bears. The “Bear Me In Mind” appeal aims to raise money to build a special enclosure for a young rescued bear named Ushka and a nursery for other cubs at Arcturos, a 50-acre woodland sanctuary in Greece. The sanctuary is home to 14 adult brown bears, mostly rescued from the dancing trade, and two orphaned cubs, including Ushka. Part of the money raised in the Born Free appeal will also go to transporting three female bear cubs from Georgia to the Greek sanctuary.
