Elephants to be Imported from Africa to American Zoos

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has approved the import of 18 elephants from Swaziland in Africa to zoos in Wichita, Kansas; Dallas, Texas; and Omaha, Nebraska. Adam M. Roberts, CEO of Born Free USA and Born Free Foundation, doubts the conservation value of taking elephants out of Africa. “It doesn’t benefit these elephants. It doesn’t benefit Swaziland’s elephants. And, it doesn’t benefit elephants across Africa,” Roberts said.
