USDA Crackdown on Tiger Cub Petting

In response to a petition filed by a coalition of animal welfare groups, including Born Free USA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced in April that the public could no longer handle big cat cubs within the first four weeks of their lives. One of the offenders listed in the petition, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, has since ended its “baby tiger encounters” program.
