New Jersey Takes a Stand against Trophy Hunting

Importing, selling, and owning “trophies” (i.e., heads) from many species of imperiled animals will soon be illegal in New Jersey. The legislature voted to approve Governor Christie’s changes to the bill, meaning that, with the governor’s signature, it will soon become law. New Jersey follows in the footsteps of Washington, which approved similar restrictions through a ballot measure last November.
