One Step Forward against Trophy Hunting; Many More to Go

Good news (if it ends up sticking): In an interview with Piers Morgan that aired on January 28, President Trump said that the U.S. ban on importing elephant hunting trophies from Zambia and Zimbabwe will stay in place.

While we applaud President Trump for standing up for wildlife, this is just one battle in a much larger war against trophy hunting. The U.S. Department of the Interior created the International Wildlife Conservation Council for the purpose of advising the Secretary of the Interior on the benefits of hunting abroad… which would affect numerous species across many countries. Thirty-eight members of Congress have already spoken out, and we share their concerns.
