Wallaby on the Loose in Kentucky
Summary:
Perry County, KY – One homeowner in Kentucky was surprised when she spotted an exotic animal, not native to the U.S, on her home security camera. Lexie Mullins shared a collection of clips showing a wallaby jumping around her front yard. The marsupial was spotted both during the daytime and at night, curiously looking around the area. The footage was captured on a number of occasions between November 9 and November 12.
As it stands, it is understood that the wallaby is still on the loose. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) says that wallabies are not prohibited to own in the state. This wallaby’s owners had the proper permits at the time the animal was transported from Tennessee to Kentucky.
The wallaby captured in the home security camera footage has reportedly been moving around the Chavies area since the animal escaped.
