Quinta La Fauna Zoo in Reynosa, Mexico alerted Reynosa police about the tiger after they escaped. Reynosa police then alerted the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office. Officials said they were not asked to assist Reynosa police but to keep its deputies vigilant. At the time, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office warned its residents to be on the lookout for the tiger.

Hidalgo County, TX – The tiger that escaped a Mexico zoo and roamed around in South Texas was captured, the Reynosa Environmental Protection told KRGV. The wild cat was captured after being nearly a week on the run. The tiger escaped their enclosure on Wednesday, September 3.
KRGV reported the tiger was captured at midnight Tuesday, September 10 in the rural community of Los Longoria, which is south of Granjeno.
