Recently the editor of leading fashion and lifestyle magazine W magazine posted a blog about vegan fashion, that complemented the magazine’s article on “The Best Vegan Accessories.”

While I’m a lot more vigilant than the editor when it comes to using my consumer power to take a stand against cruelty, I like her honesty and her ability to admit to herself and everyone else that she’s not perfect but that doesn’t mean she stops trying.
Nor does she use inconvenience as an excuse for not making an effort or as a thinly veiled justification for poohpoohing the pursuit of veganism or compassionate fashion altogether. Hopefully her blog and article will help others to be more thoughtful in their shopping habits as well.
Of course one great way to use your compassionate shopping power is by supporting companies that have actually taken a stand against cruelty, such as the many retailers who have signed on to Born Free USA’s Consumers for a Fur Free Society Program.
While I’m at it, I’m going to make three of my own animal friendly and earth friendly fashion accessories recommendations for the season.
First I’ll start with the new line of shoes by Zoe and Zac available at Payless Shoes. The shoes are being promoted by one of the judges for our fur-free fashion competition “fffashion,” Summer Rayne Oaks. Actually I’ll let her tell you more about them.
