HB 1514 Bans the Sale of Animal Skins for Fur [2010]

Update: Bad news! The bill failed to make it out of committee.

Bill Description: If passed, this bill would prohibit the sale, possession, and transportation of raw skins or unskinned carcasses of fur-bearing animals.

Existing law will be changed so that pelts may not be processed and used further. While both hunters and trappers take furbearing animals, the Fish & Game Department assumes this language will effectively eliminate trapping.
