The interview was prompted in part by reports of a bear on the loose in nearby Tenafly, N.J. Engebretson talks about how the two reasons wild animals venture into human settlements are shelter and food. If homeowners learn to not feed the animals or leave food outdoors, there would be fewer conflicts, she says.
