The number of tigers in India has increased by almost 1/3 in the past few years. However, Claudio Sillero of Born Free (also a professor at Oxford University) warns that there is much work to be done: “We need to address poaching on tigers for animal parts. We know that tiger skins, tiger bones, and tiger organs are used in illegal trade to parts of East Asia. So, through education and through better diplomacy, I’m hopeful and I’m actively working on trying to reduce that demand.” Listen to Sillero’s radio interview by scrolling down the webpage to “Indian tigers.”
