An Avoidable Tragedy at the Cincinnati Zoo

Following last Saturday’s incident at the Cincinnati Zoo in which a child fell into the enclosure of a gorilla named Harambe, Adam M. Roberts, CEO of Born Free USA, said it was unclear whether it would have been safer to tranquilize Harambe rather than shoot him. “I feel for the people who had to make the decision to shoot the gorilla, but we should never have had this incident in the first place,” he said.
