Born Free Sues the Trump Administration Over Pro-Trophy Hunting Council

The International Wildlife Conservation Council (IWCC) was established with taxpayer funds by the U.S. Department of the Interior to advise about the supposed “benefits” of Americans going abroad to hunt. Its membership – a who’s-who of pro-hunting interests, including representatives from Safari Club International and the National Rifle Association – suggests that the purpose of the Council is not to engage in an honest debate about trophy hunting, but to assert the foregone and faulty conclusion that trophy hunting significantly aids wildlife conservation. In truth, trophy hunting is a blood-sport, not a conservation method and last week, we sued the Trump Administration over the IWCC.
