October 15, 2012 Hawthorne, CA A family in Hawthorne found a snake inside their home. This is the second snake the family has found. Animal Control investigated and found the snakes belong to a neighbor, whose snake had just given birth to babies who escaped their enclosure. Reptiles

October 9, 2012 Washington D.C., DC A baby howler monkey was euthanized at the National Zoo due to complications of metabolic bone disease. This disease can be caused by lack of sunlight and the zoo is looking into the monkeys’ enclosure to ensure enough sunlight is getting through.
