A motorist stopped at a traffic light and tossed a Patagonian mara onto the street. The rodent was captured by wildlife officers at a nearby strip mall.

Candy, a female chimp who was more than 50 years old, died. She spent decades of her life alone in cramped cages at Dixie Landin’, an amusement park adjacent to Blue Bayou waterpark.
