A 350-pound African lion ripped the arm off a 21-year-old Busch Gardens zookeeper while she was giving her family a private tour. The injury was not the first for Busch, which housed hippos, hyenas, baboons, and crocodiles. In 1989, an animal keeper was crushed to death by a 2-ton elephant. In 1993, a rattlesnake bit a zookeeper, who survived. And in 1999, a woman claimed that a Clydesdale horse bit off the tip of her finger.

A tiger refused to return to the cage following a performance of Circus Gatti during the Ben Ali Shrine Circus, prompting the evacuation of spectators from the arena. Both Sacramento police and SWAT teams are called and dispatched to sthe cene. The tiger was eventually tranquilized and returned to the cage.

Two wolf hybrids attacked two neighbors’ dogs and bit a woman on the chin while she was attempting to break up the fight. The same wolf hybrids were involved in a similar incident in 1999.

A 10-year-old boy was attacked by a Burmese python while visiting a pet store. The snake’s possessor had brought the animal into the store and allowed the boy to hold the snake. The boy was bitten on the shoulder and the chest and suffered 40 puncture wounds before the animal was removed.
