A wolf-hybrid escaped and was loose in Fort Lauderdale for more than three weeks.

Two children found a 9-ft-long alligator in a pond. The alligator was captured and transferred to a local exotic animal park. The alligator was presumed to be somebody’s “pet.”

Two baby tigers were found wandering along the side of a state road. The cubs were confiscated and returned to their “owner” in Kansas.

A 5-year-old capuchin monkey bit a boy at Home Depot. The monkey was taken to a shelter to be tested for communicable diseases and released after testing negative.

An African lion, Simba, weighing 80 to 100 lbs, escaped his enclosure, killed the family dog and six puppies, and then trapped a small child in a room. The child was rescued through a window. The monkey’s possessor was charged with child endangerment.

A “pet” monkey was on the loose in Independence Township.

A “pet” wolf was found standing over a dog covered in blood and lying motionless. The same “pet” wolf was seen chasing two children and had previously attacked the same dog.

A “pet” arctic fox was found roaming the neighborhood. The fox had a collar and was litterbox trained.

A “pet” deer escaped and was loose in the streets. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources stated that the deer could not remain in the wild and that the “owner” must recapture the animal.

An 11-ft-long Burmese python was found along a busy state highway. The snake was run over by a car and rescued by a passerby. The snake was probably an abandoned “pet.”
