An albino monocled cobra was found slithering around a California neighborhood. It bit a dog before disappearing. Officials are warning residents to keep an eye out and to call authorities if the snake is found as it is deemed to be extremely dangerous. The dog survived.

Detectives rescued a male capuchin monkey from the home of a suspected hoarder. The monkey was living in what is described as extremely poor living conditions and deplorable. The monkey will be taken to the Heritage Park Zoological Society.

A stray emu was gunned down by police after it was found wandering a residential neighborhood. The owner is being sought.

A 10-foot red-tailed boa escaped its enclosure and has not been seen. Neighbors were warned.

A 6-foot long boa constrictor anemd Rocky bit a backup dancer for singer Nicki Minaj while rehearsing for the MTV Video Music Awards. The dancer was treated immediately at a hospital a different snake was used for the actual performance.

A zookeeper was bitten and scratched by a female lion during a routine transfer of the lions into a restricted area. One of the zookeepers accidentally left the door of an enclosure area open, allowing the lion to approach them.

A pet peacock escaped its enclosure and has not been caught.

A U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspector observed several incidents that took place during “Tiger Playtime,” an interactive session with tiger cubs. A visitor was pawed and mouthed in the face, one child was bitten on the top of his thigh, another child was grabbed from behind and both sides of the head and ears were mouthed by a cub, and the inspector was bitten on the back, resulting in broken skin and bleeding.

Zookeepers used physical abuse to handle two tiger cubs and five primates (two lemurs, a macaque, a capuchin, and a vervet).

Zookeepers exhibited two tiger cubs without any distance or barriers between the animals and the public, and three members of the public were scratched or bitten by the tigers.
