September 24, 2013 Shirley, NY A New York animal control officer was found with more than 850 snakes at his Long Island home, who was breeding and selling the snakes. Most of the snakes found on the man’s property were legal, but officials said he violated town codes by operating his reptile-sales business without a permit. September 8, 2013 Fairfield Beach, OH A 400-pound lion was found wandering a central Ohio neighborhood. Someone apparently broke the cage lock let the animal out. The owner was able to collect the lion. Big Cats

September 5, 2013 Starkville, MS Huyanh Ralph Tran, a Mississippi State University senior veterinary student, was arrested by the Starkville Police Department for dealing exotic birds without the proper license after the discovery of an exotic animal breeding facility in his home.
