Summary:
A female tiger kept in unsanitary and inadequate conditions in a private home was rescued by Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. The 400-pound tiger was the last of a group of tigers living at a home near Elkins. The tigers had been bred there but over time had either died or been relocated.
