Fundraise for Born Free USA

You can take your support a step further by raising funds for Born Free USA! By encouraging your friends and family to donate, you are helping protect the future of wildlife and making a strong statement about what matters most to you.

Fundraise on Social Media

Set Up a Facebook Fundraiser: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Visit facebook.com/fundraisers

2. Click the SELECT NONPROFIT button under the heading that reads Raise money for a nonprofit.

3. Search for Born Free USA and select our page.

4. A new page will open that will allow you to edit your fundraiser’s details. First, select your fundraising goal amount. This can be any amount you wish and feel you can meet or exceed!

5. Next, select an end date for your fundraiser. Select a start and end date for your fundraiser. We recommend allowing the fundraiser to run at least a week.

6. Choose a title for your fundraiser. We suggest something like: (Your Name)’s Fundraiser Born Free USA!

7. Under why are you raising money, describe what Born Free USA means to you. Here is a sample text you can use:

Donate to my fundraiser for Born Free USA! Born Free USA works to ensure that all wild animals, whether living in captivity or in the wild, are treated with compassion and respect and are able to live their lives according to their needs. Whether you donate $5 or $500, your gift to Born Free USA will have a big impact! Your donation will fight trapping and the fur trade, help protect nature and preserve biodiversity, support ongoing care and new rescues at Born Free USA’s primate sanctuary, help stop wildlife trafficking, support trapping victims, end the exotic pet trade, protect wildlife in the U.S. and Canada, and help pass pro-wildlife laws. Thank you for your support! Facebook pays all the processing fees for you, so 100% of your donation goes directly to the nonprofit.

8. Update the fundraiser cover photo. You can download a custom Born Free USA Giving Tuesday cover photo here.

9. Press CREATE to publish your fundraiser!

10. Be sure to share your fundraiser routinely and to thank your friends and family as they donate.

Set Up an Instagram Fundraiser: A Step-by-Step Guide

Fundraise with Instagram Posts:

1. Open your Instagram app and press the PLUS SIGN (+) at the top of the screen.

2. Select POST from the drop down and then select a photo or video to share to your Instagram account. Click here to download a custom Born Free USA Instagram graphic.

3. After you select your photo or video, click NEXT at the top right until you get to the screen where you can write out your caption.

4. Write out a caption to accompany your post. Here is a sample text you can use:

I am raising funds for @bornfreeusaorg! 5. Then, select ADD FUNDRAISER. In the screen that opens, search for Born Free USA and select us as your charity of choice.

6. Select your fundraising goal amount. This can be any amount you wish and feel you can meet or exceed! Once you have selected your goal amount, press DONE at the top right.

7. Your fundraiser post is now ready to go. Press SHARE at the top right to share it. Instagram fundraiser will run for 30 days.

Fundraise with Instagram Stories: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open your Instagram app and press the PLUS SIGN (+) at the top of the screen.

2. Select STORY from the drop down and then select a photo or video to share to your Instagram Story. Click here to download a custom Born Free USA Instagram Story graphic.

3. Add any text you would like to your Story. Here is a sample text you can use:

Join me in the fight to save #wildlife by donating to @bornfreeusaorg!

4. Click the STICKER icon in the top right and look or search for the DONATION sticker.

5. Select the DONATION sticker and then search for Born Free USA in the screen that opens. Select Born Free USA as your charity of choice.

6. Press DONE and then share the post and fundraiser to your Story.
