Summary:
ALCOVA, WY – The owner took her dog out to a location that she had taken her dogs to many times before. They parked in the exact same spot, right off a little two-track. Within 30 seconds of unloading the dogs (and 20 feet away from her truck), her yellow lab got caught in a leghold trap. Luckily, the trap did not have teeth, but her joint swelled immediately and she was very shaken by the experience. The owner stated that she was very fortunate that it was her yellow lab and not her other smaller dog, as the trap surely would have broken his leg or worse.
